Laura Moulton Tyree's Obituary
Laura Moulton Tyree was with her loving family when she went to be with her Lord and Savior May 18, 2019. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. May 27 at Restland Funeral Home with a celebration of her life at 10:30 a.m. May 28 at Park Central Baptist Church at 7777 LBJ Freeway Dallas, TX 75251. Burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.Laura was born February 12, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas. Growing up she lived on farms in Grapevine and Ft. Worth Texas.Laura graduated from Ammon Carter Riverside High School in 1952 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the Texas State College for Women (now known as Texas Women’s University) in 1956.Laura met Herbert Hugh Tyree, Jr. at Travis Avenue Baptist Church and they were married July 8, 1959. She considered the best “jobs” were being a wife and mother and was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren.She loved serving her church family as well.She and Hugh were married for 57 years and lived in Fort Worth, TX, Burbank and La Palma, CA and for more than 40 years in Dallas, TX. She served as a missions, children’s and teen teacher at Park Central Baptist Church. Laura was active for many years in the Women’s Auxiliary at Dallas Baptist University and the Merriman Park Estates Garden Club. She especially loved activities through her church and supported ministries and activities that shared the truths of the Bible with people locally as well as around the world. She often participated in mission trips through her church, was active on ministry teams and in various leadership capacities through her church. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and traveling, especially when it was to see her family or to her favorite beach, Cape San Blas, FL.While Laura was an only child, she had a group of friends that lovingly referred to themselves as the “sisterhood,” and she said she was blessed with friends that were as good as sisters!Laura was preceded in death by her parents Jesse Clifton & Enola Leonard Moulton. She is survived by her daughters Laura Ann Hollub & husband Alex, Martha Tyree Clark & husband Curtis & grandchildren Laura Ashley Ross & husband Zach; Curtis “Tyree” Clark & wife Kathrine; Martha Elizabeth Clark; Kevin Isaiah Hollub; Tiffany Hanna Hollub; & great grandchildren Laura Abigail Ross & Liam Micah Clark.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Central Baptist Church at the address above or to The Anchor Home for Women, (theanchorhome.org) PO Box 1403 Midlothian, TX 76065, an organization she had volunteered for and assisted in recent years.Funeral arrangements for Laura Moulton Tyree have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
