Laura Bell Zercher's Obituary
Laura Bell Zercher lived most of her life in Dallas, TX relocating to Temple TX after her husband’s retirement. She graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas where she exceled in art and was also on the women’s golf team. She worked as a medical secretary in Dallas for many years before retiring for health reasons. She was married for 64 years to her soulmate and love of her life, Richard K. Zercher. She was an accomplished painter who loved art, literature, antiques, and old movies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a beautiful and strong woman who dearly loved her family.She was preceded in death by husband, Richard K. Zercher, son, Stephen W. Zercher, parents Mr. and Mrs. Leo F Houck, 3 sisters, Leola Lanier, Betty Jane Gunnin, Ruth Mueller, and 2 brothers, Harry and Travis Houck. Laura is survived by a daughter, JoAnna Langthorn, son, Richard K. Zercher, Jr, 2 sisters, Vivien Huff and Joann West, 5 grandchildren, Jeremy and Bonnie Langthorn, Richard K. Zercher III, Wesley Zercher, and Amy Grow. She has 5 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 10 at 2:30 pm (at the Abbey Chapel) followed by funeral services at 3:00 pm in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
