Laurie Cathryn Hines Mashburn's Obituary
Our dear daughter, sister, auntie, and friend Laurie Hines Mashburn, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, September 7, 2023. She was beloved by countless numbers of people and her loss leaves grief beyond imagining.
Laurie spent her formative years in Paris, Texas, and graduated from high school there. She sang in the chorus and also sang at First Baptist Church where her family worshipped. She relocated to Dallas with her parents after high school, where she attended Richland Community College. She worked for J C Penny and Transamerica in the life insurance industry, from which she retired in 2020.
Laurie’s generous spirit, laser-precision wit, and innate ability to make things better simply by being present will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her dear father, Joe C Hines, her brother, William Russell “Rusty” Hines, and her precious daughter Rebecca Leigh. She is survived by her mother, Betty Jane (Thornton) Hines, sisters Carolyn (Bruce) Young, Nancy (Allyn Bryant) Barak, Debbie Hines, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
