Lit a candle in memory of Laurie Ann Shankle
I loved Laurie. I've had the pleasure of working with Laurie over the years and as time went on we became not just close friends but family. She was one of the most genuine people I've known…what you saw is what you got. She had a laugh that was truly contagious and a heart of gold…such a beautiful spirit. I learned so much from her and not just related to work, but life lessons as she often spread wisdom to my willing ears. We had a bond that only we shared and one that can never be duplicated. She used to always say that she wanted to visit Cuba and I would tell her that would be her retirement present from me…a cruise to Cuba. Although we never got to that point, I promise my dear Laurie I will hold up my end of that deal and will go to Cuba one day as I promised just for you. 💜 My thoughts and prayers go out to Kevin, Nikki, her mom, that beautiful baby girl that was the joy and light of her life, and to all her family. May the Lord wrap his loving arms around you all and bring you comfort during such a trying time. When it seems as though the pain and circumstances are too much to bear, trust in and lean on the Lord as he will carry you through. Laurie will NEVER be forgotten and her memory will continually live in our hearts.
"I met Laurie in 1995 when I first started working for New York Life. She was always very helpful and never hesitated to share her knowledge with me no matter how many times I asked her the same question. Laurie was a great, down to earth, and genuine person. I will always remember her for the role she has played in my life. Thank you Laurie. You will be missed. My sincere condolences to her family. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
I was so sorry to hear of Lauries passing. I worked with her at New York Life for many years. In fact her mother, Sandy Gorman was my boss before Laurie came to work there. Laurie was kind, sweet, smart, and a very dedicated worker. May God wrap His arms around the family and give you comfort during this difficult time.
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Laurie was a great co-worker that I enjoyed working with and I will miss her. Please accept my condolences.
My deepest condolences to Laurie's family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Laurie will be sorely missed within her NYL family. She was always generous with her smile, her time and her vast knowledge. Laurie, you were loved! Rest in peace.
I worked with Laurie for a couple of years and throughout those years I have learned so much from Laurie. Her personality was great and she never turned down a chance to help someone in need. I left the team and yet kept going back to Laurie for more help and yet again she was always pleasant and willing. I am most grateful I got the chance to meet her in person and got to see that wonder smile of hers. Words are not enough to write and describe how wonderful she was as a co-worker. My deepest heartfelt goes out to the family in this tough time. Fequiere Joseph
I love Laurie. I've worked with her for 31 years and I know her to be a kind, giving, outspoken, smart, funny lady. I smile thinking about a particular weekend trip to Hot Springs with her. Laurie will be truly missed and thought of often. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.
