LaVerne S. Bierman's Obituary
Born January 25, 1918 and passed away February 6, 2015. Preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Calvin Dewitt Sellers and Haley Campfield Bierman Jr., and her grandson, Karl Ray Hall. Survived by her daughters, Meredith and Craig Hansen, Jahron Flener; son, Tom and Mary Sellers; and granddaughter, Allison. Living through the Great Depression and WWII, she had many roles as homemaker, caregiver, munitions worker, bookkeeper and church worker. With her second husband, Haley, she was a life long member of Eastridge Park Christian Church. She was the first woman elder, serving in the CWF and in faithfulness for over 40 years. Family will receive friends on Monday, February 9th, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. The graveside service for LaVerne will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at DFW National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Eastridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite, Texas at 2:00pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastridge Park Christian Church Building Fund, 2701 Town East Blvd., Mesquite, TX 75150. .
