Laverne Green's Obituary
GREEN, LAVERNE 84, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10 at Restland Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 11 at First Baptist Church Farmers Branch at 10:30AM. Laverne was born on May 10, 1927 on the family farm in Throckmorton, TX. She graduated from Howard Payne University where she met her husband, Billy Jack Green. Laverne was a long time resident of Farmers Branch where she taught elementary school in the CFBISD. Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack; parents, Tencil and Beatrice Scott; and sisters, Billye Jean Woods and Alta Beatrice Baird. She is survived by sons, Darrell and wife Susan of Grapevine, TX, Randy and wife Alyce of Farmers Branch, TX; grandsons, Jonathan and wife Erica of Austin, TX, Travis and wife Chelsea of Redstone, CO, and Stephen, Timothy and Sam of Farmers Branch, TX; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Seasons Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
