Laverne Milby's Obituary
Born February 27, 1924 in Bremond, TX and passed away March 13, 2015 in Tyler, TX. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Archie L. Milby; her parents; 2 brothers; 8 sisters; and 1 granddaughter. Survived by her son, Archie Michael Milby; her daughter, Pamela Kay Maddox; 3 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Milby grew up as a cotton sharecropper’s daughter and left home to participate in the war effort as a riveter. There she met and later married the one and only love of her life. Together they raised 2 children and later retired as a librarian from Garland ISD. Mrs. Milby was a loyal and faithful Christian Servant and with her husband consistantly, without wavering, put the needs of others before herself. She was the heart and soul of her family and had the unique ability to make everyone feel they were special. She was truly a blessing to anyone she knew. She was loved and will be missed more than words can express. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243
