Lavoyda Ann Anderson's Obituary
Lavoyda Ann Anderson, born on April 4, 1944, in Odessa, Texas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, at the age of 80. She married Adelbert A. Anderson on May 18, 1990, in the Methodist Chapel at SMU in Dallas, Texas.
On October 24, 1967, Lavoyda, was hired by TI on the transistor 60-67 final test line. Between October 24, 1967, and January 12, 1976, she was on the transistor line, in staff accounts payable and SC accounts payable offices, clerical in resistors, north building inventory control, data control, and calculators inventory control. January 12, 1976, joined the safety department and stayed there with different bosses. On May 21, 1991, moved to the time building and on October 21, 1991, moved to the east building to present job. Retiring at the age of 55 on April 4, 1999.
Lavoyda enjoyed long walks at Huffhines Park with her late husband, Andy. The two would go to church on Sunday and visit Braum’s for lunch together in the afternoon. Lavoyda also enjoyed crocheting, she crocheted many things like Afghan blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, house slippers, coffee table center pieces, and potholders. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a woman of wisdom and often shared that wisdom with her grandchildren.
Lavoyda is preceded in death by her husband, Adelbert (Andy) Anderson; parents, Margret and D.L. Dorner.
Lavoyda is survived by her son Shaun Drinkard and wife, Liza Drinkard, along with her beloved granddaughters, Stephanie Drinkard, Stacy Drinkard, and Erin Drinkard. In addition, she is survived by her only great grandchildren, Edward Correia, Isabelle Correia, Alaina Gould, and Annaliza Gould.
As we remember Lavoyda, let us celebrate the incredible life she led and the love and wisdom she shared with her family and friends. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of the love from those who cherished her.
