John Matlack
Elaine and Doug, I have wonderful, fun memories of Lawrence Junior, Senior and Martin and the store at 3310 Knox. Lawrence Jr gave me my first real job there in the summer of 1957. I was 14. He mentored and shaped my future. I owe him so much. He understood this young, immature 14 year old boy. I worked at the various stores and factory in evenings, weekends and summers up into the early 60?s. Junior was always there to guide and support. I followed his lead and enrolled at Texas A&M in 1961, class of ?65. My time there in the Corps of Cadets (Junior?s advice) was a life changing experience that has helped me to this day. My eternal thanks to this loyal Aggie. To Doug, Elaine and family; my heartfelt sympathy. Gig ?em Junior and rest in peace. John Matlack Dallas
