Lawrence Joseph Geising's Obituary
Giesing Jr., Lawrence Joseph (Larry) Born February 27, 1931, in Quincy, Illinois, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2007, after valiantly fighting cancer for the past four years. He moved from Quincy to Dallas, where he and his family have lived for the past 33 years. Larry graduated from Quincy University in 1953. After serving in the military as an Army Corporal, he worked for Gardner Denver for 25 years before starting his own business. Larry was a devoted and loving family man. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Weed. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rose Holtschlag Giesing, and his children, Peggy Betzel (spouse Charlie); Terri Harding (spouse Chuck); Kathy Daum (spouse Scott); Larry Giesing III (spouse Barbara); Mark Giesing (spouse Karen); Roseann Irion (spouse Ron); Julie Horowitz (spouse David) and Jane Rose. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, Lindsay & Christine Campbell; Sgt Matthew Harding & Holly Harding; Garrett Daum & Scott Daum, Jr.; Larry IV, Kareen & Christopher Giesing; Mark Jr. & Joey Giesing; Randy, Amanda, Katie & Ryan Weed; Robert Irion; Morgan, Gregory & Olivia Horowitz; and Brittney Rose. The family would like to give special thanks to the offices of Drs. Gabriel Shapiro, Kenny Weinmeister, and Melanie Christina for their dedication and care.
