Mr. Lawrence Abner Horn Jr.'s Obituary
Lawrence Abner Horn Jr (78) passed away on May 28th in Richardson, Texas. Born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on February 28,1946 to Lucy Pauline Horn and Lawrence Abner Horn Sr.
He graduated from Butler University, where he met his wife Robin, with a BS in Communications. He was a true performer at heart appearing in numerous theatrical productions. He was a mobile newsman at WIBC (Indianapolis) and a cameraman at WISH TV (Indianapolis) He served a year in Vietnam in the Army in the 284th MP Company. His job in retail brought the family to Texas in 1978. After several years in retail, Larry and Robin started a new career in sports memorabilia as the owners of Stars and Legends until he retired. In his spare time, he loved gardening, traveling, spending time with family, and attending musicals. He even performed at a local theater after retirement.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl Robert Horn of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Sister Nancy Caroline Horn of Cleveland, Ohio; and sister Wanda Dennis of Sarasota, Florida.
He is survived by his wife Robin Horn of Garland, Texas; children Rochele Venable and husband Dave of Frisco, Texas; Heather Hurley and husband Mark of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Eric Horn and wife Jennifer of The Woodlands, Texas; and Holly Baxter and husband Dan of Garland, Texas. Larry is survived by 8 loving grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Derek Hopper and wife Taryn, Ethan Venable, Taylor Baxter, Kaela Venable, Kathryn Baxter, Owen Horn, Nathan Horn, Brooks Hurley, Lincoln Hopper, and Karsyn Hopper. He is also survived by his niece Susan Dennis Patton and nephews Dean Dennis and Daniel Dennis.
Larry lived a long and fulfilling life. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service in Larry’s honor will be held on Monday, June 3rd at 2:00pm at Restland Funeral Home.
