Lawrence O.C. Shults' Obituary
Lawrence O.C. Shults of Bastrop, Texas passed away in his home on March 14, 2020. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Lawrence O.C. Shults was born on October 9, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to Ocie and Willene Shults. He was a 1955 Crozier Tech High School Graduate. Shortly after, Lawrence enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1956-1960. He met his wife, Joyce, when they were in elementary school however, they became reacquainted and were married in 1961 after he was honorably discharged from the Air Force. Lawrence went to work in the printing industry and retired as the Vice President of Kissel Printing Company after 38 years. He enjoyed drag racing, playing paintball, flying and building R/C airplanes, shooting guns, playing card games, watching the TV Series "Blue Bloods" and spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors; he went camping and loved boating but, above all, he loved his family.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; son, Dwayne Shults and wife, Becky; daughter, LeAnn Knutson and husband, Tony; son, Billy Shults and wife, Tracy; step son, Michael Smith; four grandchildren: Monica Shults, Hagen Shults, Audrey Shults and Naomi George and blessed to have one great grandchild, Samantha George. He was also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces.
The chapel and graveside services are private.
