Mr. L.E. Sonny Parnell's Obituary
PARNELL, L.E.”SONNY”, 87 of Dallas, TX passed away January 23, 2007. Preceded in death by son, Terry. Survived by wife of 57 years, Jean; son, Rex & wife Sara Parnell; daughter, Pam Avlos; grandchildren, Whitney, Kylie, & Kaley; sisters, Ruth Scherr & Nody Stogner; and numerous other family & friends. Sonny, a gospel singer, raised in a family who sang together as a quartet all over NW Arkansas & Oklahoma. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage. He was a vet of WWII in the Air Corp. Sonny attended John Brown Univ. majoring in Radio & received his 1st Class Engineering License. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback & had many friends among coaches & players. Sonny retired from Nestle’s after 35 years & to all his nieces, nephews & neighbors he was called “The Candy Man”. He was dedicated to his Family, Church, Country – and to the Razorbacks! Services 10 AM Saturday, January 27th at Royal Haven Baptist Church, 10919 Royal Haven Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 PM at Restland Funeral Home, Friday, January 26th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church at above address.
