Leamon Charles Goode's Obituary
Leamon Charles Goode, 91 of Dallas Texas was born at home on Pine
Street in Dallas Texas on December 20th 1934 to Leamon George Goode
and Minnie Mary Elizabeth Hough and entered Eternity on the evening of
April 8th, 2026.
Charles married Joelle Gay Speer, three weeks to the day they met, on
January 21, 1960 and remained in love and inseparable for almost 58
years till her passing on August 10th, 2017.
Charles entered this world during the Great Depression and experienced
tough times. Help came to the Goode family and Charles was taken in as
a foster by Ora Sirena Brown along with three of his brothers. Sister Brown
raised these boys as her own in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints, educated them and taught them to be successful and loving men.
At a young age, Charles sang on the Kiddie Club radio show in Dallas then
on to The Big-D Jamboree where he won week after week. In 1955
Charles joined the Navy where he served on Operation Deep Freeze in
Antarctica under Admiral Byrd. During his time in the Navy, he was also able
to participate in several USO shows as a singer. In 1960, Charles’ worked
for a Dallas furniture company as a credit manager till around 1963 when
he joined the team of Dallas Fountain and Fixture Company, later known
as Watson Food Industries, where he served as Credit Manager and later,
Vice President until its closing in 1997. Charles later went to work for Ribelin Sales as a Credit Manager and retired in early 2015 at the age of 80. For more than
20 of these years, Charles also served as a volunteer at Medical City
Hospital in Dallas.
Charles was preceded death by his parents, his wife, Joelle Gay Goode,
grandson, Zachary Austin Good, two sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Good (Don), Canton, TX, Cassandra Currie (Shawn), Shady Shores, TX, Jennifer Bowen, Dallas, TX and son, Charles Goode (Maria), PlanoTX, many grandchildren, great-grand children and his beloved dog, Tilly.
