Leanear Donahew's Obituary
The Man the Myth the Legend, “Mr. Catfish” Leanear “Don” Donahew was Born on September 25 1928 in Cooper, Texas and was called home to fish with Jesus on May 26, 2018 in Greenville, Texas.Don loved fried bologna sandwiches and anything sweet or chocolate. He was mechanic for many of the Ford dealerships in the DFW metroplex. He also built and raced race cars. In his later years he worked for QISD as a bus mechanic. The race car driver in him never left he liked to drive fast. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, cat-fishing and many times caught fish that out weighed him.He is preceded in death by his wife Sue Faulkner Donahew,his mother Servilla Brannon Poteet, his father Richard Hiram Donahew, his step daughter Terry Sue Warner, his brother Joe Elbert Donahew, and sisters, Tennie Ruth Donahew, Lydia Juanita Fox, Minnie E. Sanders, Buela Faye Hamilton and his nephew Richard W. Donahew jr. He is survived by his Nephews, Richard W Donahew, Elbert L Donahew, James T Donahew, Michael K Donahew, and Terry Hamilton. Nieces, Janie (Donahew) Burgett and Patricia (Hamilton) Jarrell. grandchildren Aaron and his wife Sharon Holbrook, JLee Holbrook, ,and gathered family David & Donna Scoggin’s, Jimmy & Kelly Millsap, children Justin, Lucy, Gabe, Grace, Jeff & Misty McBride, and children Dakota, Stormie, Cheyenne, Siera,Julio his neighbor, and his best friend and room mate Daniel May.Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life on May 31, 2018 from 9-11:45 AM atRestland Funeral Home.13005 Greenville Ave.Dallas, TX 75243In Lieu of flowers, we are asking that you help us create a Scholarship fund for QISD Fishing Team in Don’s memory.QISD School District401 E.
