Leary Nell Barrett's Obituary
Mrs. Leary Nell Frierson Barrett was born in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas July 11, 1924 to Hillory and Sibbie (Wilder) Frierson. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Greenhill Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. She attended Pemberton High School in Marshall, TX. She married Leon Thomas, to this union One child was born. She later met and married Mr. James Lee Barrett, Sr. who preceded her in death; to this union 6 children were born. She was a lifelong member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was an active member of the Senior Mission, Mission Chorus, Senior Saints Ministry, BTU and was a faithful Sunday School and Prayer Member. She leaves to cherish her memories seven children: Roosevelt Thomas(Carolyn), James Barrett Jr. (Everlyn), Larry D. Barrett, Michael W. Barrett (Rogena), Gwenda Barrett Jackson (Eddie), Linda Barrett, and Paul E. Barrett. She is survived by a sister Winnie L. Fields, brother Acie Frierson. She was preceded in death by her father: Hillory Fierson Sr., mother Sibbie Wilder Frierson. Sisters: Corene Wilson, Annie Mae Richardson, Luella Clark, Gladys Lively, Hazel Hubbard, Wilma Clark, Ola Frierson, Ruby Wilhite, Martha Marie Brown, Betty Jean Mitchell, and Dorothy Jackson. Brothers: Samuel Frierson, Hue Frierson, Robert Frierson, Hillory Fierson, Jr., Bobby Roy Frierson, Donald Frierson. She leaves a legacy of Nine Grandchildren: Shaniquia Nicole Barrett, Countney Barrett Pringle (Dandre), Kayla Marie Thomas, James Michael (David) Barrett, (Tachanda) Brieonna Renee’ Barrett, Myah Renee’ Barrett, Damion Byros, Jacqueline Jackson, and Curtis Jackson. As well as Six Great Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Leary Barrett will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
