Leatha Powell Feagins' Obituary
Born in Gainesville, TX July 21, 1926 and passed into the arms of Jesus October 25, 2018. Raised in Lewisville, TX through High School then on to higher education. A very strong believer in education she wanted her children and grandchildren to have the best education possible. She was a pioneer in Electronic Data Processing as one of the First Key Punch Operators in Dallas. Preceded in death by parents, Tal and Bertha Powell and sister Lilly Marie Powell. Married to Kenneth R. Feagins on June 8, 1956 when he was with an Oil Company. Moved to Brownfield, TX for three years and returned to Dallas. She was a devoted mother, wife, and friend. Leatha was a strong lady of faith who loved Christmas and loved to have the whole family gathered for the holidays. She belonged to the Schreiber UMC, now The Grove Church, for fifty one years. She always said she had a wonderful life, a very happy marriage, and got to travel many parts of the world as she and Ken were in their own business in the high fashion industry for twenty eight years before retiring in 1996. Leatha is survived by husband Kenneth R. Feagins, three children, Jimmie Feagins (Sue) of Farmersville, TX, K. Ray Feagins II (Wendy) and Lisa “Cookie” Feagins of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.A visitation will take place on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018, 11 am, The Grove Church, 4525 Rickover Dr. Dallas, TX.
