Leatrice “Lee” Landry Munson, 98, of Richardson, Texas
Leatrice Munson, a beloved great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the age of 98, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 25, 1927, in Dutchtown, LA, she was the daughter of Leuce and Lucette Landry. She grew up in Dutchtown and often shared fond memories of simple times growing up on a farm with her siblings.
She married the love of her life, John “Jack” Connell Munson, on April 15, 1950, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. They were married for 55 years and raised two children: John and Lisa Munson. She retired as an Executive Secretary from Rockwell Int. in 1989, and she and her husband spent retirement travelling extensively.
A dedicated and loving mother, she was the heart of her family. She was known for weathering of every storm with strength and taking amazing care of her family. Her home was always a welcoming place, filled with the aroma of her famous Cajun cuisine and the sound of her family enjoying holidays together.
Throughout her life, she was passionate about playing Bridge with her friends, crossword puzzles, working in the yard, and staying engaged in current events. She was an active member of The All-Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Women’s Organization, All Saints Golden Saints, and the church Widows Group.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lisa Brooks; her grandchildren, Benjamin Brooks, Cody Brooks (and wife Michelle), and Roseanne Brooks; and her great-grandchildren, Evelyn Lussier, Gunnar Brooks, Cora Brooks, Landry Brooks and Amelia Brooks. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John C. Munson, her son John “Buddy” Munson, and her siblings, Gene Landry, Russell Landry, Lela Mae Walton, and Hazel Landry.
A celebration of her life will be held on March 15 at 10:30am at Restland Wildwood Chapel. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and share their memories.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her love for cooking, and her unwavering love for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
