Lee Ball Griffith born September 6, 1920 in Stockinbingcal, NSW, Australia went to be with our Lord on January 27, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband, Britt Griffith; father, Albert Ball; mother, Elsie Ball, all of Sydney, Australia; and brother, Earl Ball of Brisbane, Australia. Lee is survived by daughter, Cherie Griffith McBee and son-in-law, Ralph McBee of Caddo Mills, Texas, youngest brother, Bill Ball and wife, Verna of Sydney Australia; niece, Samantha Ball of Sydney Australia; nephew, Mark Ball and wife Wendy of Brisbane, Australia; Earl Ball Jr. of Queensland, Australia; nieces, Ann Black of Richardson, Texas and June Gobel of Ft. Worth, Texas; countless wonderful grand nieces and nephews both in Australia and here in the U.S. Lee married Britt Griffith during WWII. They met on the beach in Coolengata, Queensland, Australia and were married in Australia. She worked for the British Admiralty at the time and was fortunate to meet many of the American actors and politicians of that era. She had to wait before coming to America to be with Britt. They lived in Dallas until the early 70’s when they moved to the Rockwall area. Lee was a buyer at Linz Jewelers for 25 years and had an extremely successful career. She was a member of Republican Women’s Club, where she was named Woman of the year. She belonged to American Legion Auxiliary, Friends of the Library in Rockwall. Book club located in Rowlett. She traveled back and forth to Australia to see her family many times and after retirement she and Britt traveled extensively both here and abroad also, making several trips back to Australia. She will be missed by her daughter, and many loved ones. She had a wonderful and beautiful life.
