Lee Edward McConnell's Obituary
Lee Edward McConnell was born at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on November 10, 1965 to loving parents Harold and Donna (Welsh) McConnell. He was blessed to be raised in a home where he was deeply loved and cherished. He was one of two children, along with his sister, Cheryl McConnell. He grew into a man who was kind, compassionate and loved cars/trucks and his rescue pit bulls. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He spent many years in the insurance industry working for USF&G, Holmes Murphy & Associates, Inc, AON Risk Services of Texas, and HRH of Dallas. He received his CPCU, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter certification. He later left the insurance industry to work in the roofing industry, for Bradley Roofing, which was a good fit with his insurance background. Later Lee started his own company, Advanced Insurance Restoration and Recovery which he was the CEO.
His life truly began when he moved to Dallas, Texas. He hated snow!
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Harry Welsh a Des Moines police detective and Thelma (Bloom)Welsh, homemaker. His parents Harold McConnell, who was a Des Moines fire fighter(engineer) and Donna (Welsh) McConnell who was in the insurance industry, and his four-legged furry kids, Oreo (cat), Tord (Norwegian Forest Cat), Denim (pitty dog) and Reginald Jeremiah aka RJ (pitty dog).
He will forever be loved and missed by his sister Cheryl, sister-in-law Suzanne, and his surviving pittys’ Voodoo Man and Diamond Mama, and his extended family and many, many friends.
Our dad always told us, “You only have so many heartbeats.”
