Lee O. Scott's Obituary
Lee O Scott, 80 of Garland, Texas was born 9/7/1940 in Commerce, Texas to Ernest G and Aletha Scott. He passed peacefully on 7/16/2021. He married Billie (BJ) Anderson on 5-15-2015 in Garland, Texas.
Lee O worked in the construction industry for approximately 50 years, working for others and starting his business, Lee O’s Painting and Drywall. He learned to snow ski later in life and would go on trips often with relatives and church groups. He loved to go to the lake to camp in his travel trailer and go fishing on his barge. Lee O was able to use his construction talents to travel with The Texas Baptist Men’s, assisting with church projects around the state of Texas. He also traveled to Bulgaria for a special project with the Texas Baptist Men. He was a longtime faithful servant of the Baptist church, his family, his neighborhood, and any stranger that he thought he could help. He loved Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his son, Lee Scott, Jr.; parents: Ernest & Aletha Scott; sisters: Ernestine Hill, Geraldine Leake, Nancy Walker, Sandra Hammonds, Marilyn Butler, Betty Sue Scott; brothers: George Scott, Michael Scott.
He is survived by his wife, BJ Anderson; daughters: Sharon Barrett and husband Bob of Josephine, TX, Brenda Scheidt and husband Gary of Sherman, TX and grandson Jeremy Scheidt of Yukon, OK; sisters: Virginia (Ginger) Hudson and husband Lynn of Caddo Mills, TX, Carolyn Smith and husband Jimmie of Emory, TX, Sarah Monday of Garland, TX; brothers: Billy Ed Scott and wife Billie Joyce of Paris, TX, Ronald Scott and wife Kay of Commerce, TX, Donnie Scott and wife Laura of Lindsay, CA; and numerous friends, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Garland, Texas or Texas Baptist Men in Dallas, TX.
