I am so sorry to hear of Lee Ida's passing. She was a cousin to my mother (Mrs Meda Dickereson) and I have been sending her cards now for qui some time. My mother, Betty Newsom, knew Lee Ida from Big Spring when they were young, as well as in Dallas. My parents (Bill and Betty Newsom) were also "couple friends" with Lee Ida and John and thought so very highly of them. They were all members of the Redus Bible Class at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church for years, until my parents moved from Dallas in the 1980s. That class was such a blessing to all of them. Lauren, on behalf of my mother and me, we send our most sincere sympathy. Your mother was a gracious, lovely, and accomplished lady.
I moved into the Edgemere in Building one 3 years ago and Lee was my neighbor and friend. We all loved her wit, charm and enthusiasm for fitness and life.We grieve our loss but are thankful she is in the arms of her God and with loved ones who have gone on before her. I am so sad to hear of Lee Ida's passing, and I regret that I did not know until now. Lee Ida was my father's first cousin, and I saw her often when I was growing up. My husband I and visited with Lee Ida and John in their home, and they were so gracious! For many years, we kept in touch, but my husband was ill for several months before his death last September, so I had not heard from her in some time. She was a gracious, lovely person who blessed all who knew her.
