Leigh Ann Leonard's Obituary
Leigh Ann Leonard, 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in Dallas, Texas following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Leah, as she was affectionately called by friends and family, never met anyone she didn’t consider a friend. She was warm and loving, and being with her family was what she loved most. She was a daughter, a sister, a sister-in-law, and aunt, and Leah loved helping her parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews. She had a truly loving heart with a generous soul.
Leah was born in England. Her father was an Air Force dentist on a base in England and her mother an avid homemaker. From England, Leah gained a love of antiques and traveling. She was very proud of her birthplace.
When her family was transferred back home, Leah welcomed three siblings and grew up in Preston Hollow, attending Preston Hollow Elementary and graduating from Hillcrest High School. She pursued a college education and became an accountant, whereupon she went to work for Braniff Airlines, a time in which she gained many friends. When Braniff went into bankruptcy, Leah was one of the twenty people chosen to stay on during this period. Not only was Leah a wonderful friend and loving family guide, she was an excellent and trusted accountant.
Over the years, Leah enjoyed yoga, dancing, Valentine’s Day, and traveling. She was active, sharing her gentle soul with everyone. If you were fortunate enough to be around Leah, you knew what it was like to meet a truly loving and fun person. She will be greatly missed by her three siblings, Jet, Tim, and Linda, her seven nieces and nephews, Michelle, Hunter, Dean, Jet III, Kyle, Ava, and Andi, and grand nieces, Eloise and Olivia.
Graveside service followed by a reception will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Restland Cemetery 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Humane Tomorrow of Flower Mound, where Leah worked as a volunteer and adopted her beloved cat, Coco.
