Fuller, Lela Velma Thompson “Granny Spot” 1911 – 2007. Wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend.’ Lela loved her family, her pets, cooking for her loved ones, quilting, gardening, boogie-woogie music, dancing, and she had a quick and lively sense of humor.’ Married for 62 years to John Richard ( Dick ) Fuller before his death in 1992, she and her kitchen were the nucleus of our family until Alzheimer’s stole her away.’ For years, Sunday dinner at her house was an open invitation to her family and any of their friends, and MANY have passed through the line at her stove. No meal was complete without at least 4 vegetables, 2 meats, dessert and SWEET tea, and her fried chicken and gravy are still without an equal. Preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters, her husband, her daughter Shirley, and granddaughter Bonnie, she is survived by her daughter and beloved son-in-law, Joyce and Ramon Eaves of Forney, TX; grandchildren – Terri Miller Raith of Dallas; Paul “Rocky” Miller of Combine, TX; Rami Colwell’of Carlsbad, NM; great grandchildren – John Richard Foster’of Myersville, MD; Jamaica Raith of Chicago, IL; Shirley Miller of Austin, TX; Roxanne Miller of Combine; Scott Chiesel of Canton, TX; great-great-granddaughters Lindsey and Ellie Chiesel; and numerous friends and extended family. After years of slowly having her life diminished by a cruel and invisible disease, her heart flew free on Valentines Day at the age of 95 embracing her cherished baby doll. She is at peace. The family is eternally grateful to the staff at Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point, TX, for making her last years filled with loving care. Visitation Friday evening at Restland from 6:30 to 9pm. Services to celebrate her life will be held at Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, Saturday, February 17, at 12:30, with burial immediately following.
