Lela Marie Welsh's Obituary
Lela Marie Sebring Welsh, born September 14, 1916 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed away on February 11, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. Lela was a homemaker and a life-long volunteer. She was a longtime member at Royal Haven Baptist Church where she was active in bible studies and pastoral care. Lela was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Milton Harvey Sebring, husband Jasper Prentiss (J.P.) Welsh, brother Harvey Derril Sebring and daughter Rebecca Jo (Becky) Swann. She is survived by her children Harvey Prentiss, Richard David, Raymond Earl and Susie Welsh Demarest, grandchildren Jim and Alycia Swann (Fulcher), Brandi Welsh Austin, Jasper Prentiss, Richard David, and Jonathan Alan Welsh, Sarah Demarest Allen, Emily Marie, Stephanie Leigh and Jeremy Barrett Demarest, Elizabeth Welsh Dixon and Meredith Welsh Matthews, as well as 5.step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Lela was a faithful Christian and died with her well-worn bible in her hands. A graveside service will be held at Restland Memorial Park on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
