Lena Mae was born in Kilgore, Texas and spent all of her childhood and young adulthood at Laird Hill. Lena and Joe were married in December of 1962. After falling in love with Dallas on their honeymoon, Joe and Lena decided to move and raise their children there. Lena lived out the rest of her life surrounded by loving family, friends and neighbors in Dallas. Lena was a devoted wife, a caring, compassionate and dedicated mother and doting grandmother to Eric, Hannah, Stewart and Chloe. Lena always maintained a close relationship with her three sisters and brother. Lena Mae is well known for her love for life, family and caring touch for others. Lena always put family, friends and others ahead of herself. Her compassion to love others unconditionally personified a Christ-like example of a godly woman, as stated in Proverbs 31:25-30 “She is a woman of strength and dignity and has no fear of old age. When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says. She watches carefully all that goes on throughout her household and is never lazy. Her children stand and bless her; so does her husband. He praises her with these words: “There are many fine women in the world, but you are the best of them all!” Charm can be deceptive and beauty doesn’t last, but a woman who fears and reverences God shall be greatly praised.” TLB Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
