Lena Earline Byrd's Obituary
Byrd, Earline Hayes Born January 7, 1918 in Slaton, TX and passed away October 15, 2008 in Sherman, TX. Earline was the most generous, kind, loving and sweet person you could ever meet. She graduated from Sunset High School and was an administrator for 30 years at Continental Oil. The Hayes Family were the photographers for the Dallas Times Herald. There is a collection of the Hayes’ photos from the early days of Dallas in the Dallas Public Library. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Byrd; brothers, Johnny Hayes and his wife, Travis; parents, Dennis and Mary Hayes and nephew, Richard Hayes. She is survived by her brother, Durwood Hayes; 7 nieces, Theresa Sutton, Becky Hayes, Patricia Welch, Jacquelyn Williams and husband, Edward, Cecelia Thompson and husband, Gary, Glynda Covinting and husband, Steve and Mary Unertl and husband, John and extended family. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 8150 Brookriver Drive #s-102, Dallas, TX 75247.
