Lena Elizabeth Montgomery Wilson's Obituary
On the wings of an angel, Lena left this world to join her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2008. Lena was a loving mother, devoted wife, dedicated Grandmother, and proud Great Grandmother who was preceded in death by her infant son, Ronald Wilson, daughter Barbara Courson and granddaughter Echo Courson. Lena is survived by her loving and adoring husband of 71 years, Carl N. Wilson, her son, Richard Wilson and wife Suzanne, daughter, Carolyn Hersh and husband Alfred, and daughter Phyllisha Jacobs and husband Randy. She is also survived by grandchildren, Paula Thrash(Trey) Doug Goodson(Pam), Don Goodson(Vicky), Rick Wilson, Debbie Simmons(Brian), David Goodson(Lori), Alaina Webb(Jearrel) Silas Courson(Amy), Erik Wilson, Jared Hersh and Brenham Jacobs along with 18 great-grandchildren, also survived by sisters, Florence Broom, Murrel Schulze(Will) and Pebba McCollom(Jimmy), and many nieces and nephews. Lena, with husband Carl, resided in University Park for 58 years. She was a member of Scofield Memorial Church for 66 years and taught Children’s Sunday school for 35 years. Lena also was a graduate of the Bible Memory Association, memorizing over 3000 Bible Scriptures. Having touched the hearts of so many, Lena will be greatly missed by her family, church and friends. Her compassion and unconditional love will forever live on in all of us that knew her.
