Lenora Evelyn Barnes Beneke of Garland, TX passed away on January 12, 2016 at the age of 101. She was born on October 14, 1914 in San Antonio, Texas. Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Jacob Beneke,Jr. (Tex); her mother, Lillie Lenora Barnes; her father, Lell Ezelle Barnes and brother, Lell Ezelle Barnes, Jr. Lenora is survived by her sister, Bessie Mae(Doll) Barnes Lacy and husband, Eldon Lacy of Alaska, Wasilla; Daughters, Susan Dianne Beneke of Garland, TX and Linda Jeanne Beneke Stinebaugh of Las Vas Vegas, NV. Grandchildren: Christopher Kyle Poetachke of Garland, TX; Rachel Lynn Poetschke Stewart of Rockwall, TX; Jessica Elizabeth Kaleigh Stinebaugh of Las Vagas, NV. Great-grandchildren: Kaleena Lynn Poetschke of Mesquite, age 20; Kaden Christopher Poetachke of Mesquite, age 14; Jonathan Austin Stewart of Rockwall, age 22; Kaley Nicol Stewart of Rockwall, age 19; Blake Anthony Stewart of Rockwall, age 16 Alyx Paige Stewart of Rockwall, age 9. Lenora was a mother, wife and gardener! She loved flowers! Her yard looked like the Dallas Arboretum! She was a secretary. She had 17 years of dedicated service and 10 years perfect attendance as Sunday School Secretary for the members of Axe Memorial United Methodist church of Garland, TX! Her church community was her extended family. She was an active and loyal member of the Pacesetters Sunday School Class. They were her life-long friends. She had good and bad times and was loved by all! The family will greatly miss her. “Nana” as the grandchildren would call her, was always giving in love to her grandchildren, when she was needed in good and bad times. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM for visitation at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Court of Faith at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. Memorial donations may be made to the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden (8525 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218) or Axe Memorial United Methodist Church (1700 W. Kingsley Road, Garland, TX 75041) and are appreciated.
