Lenora Cathey's Obituary
Lenora Cathey, 98, went to be with Jesus on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018… what a wonderful day to celebrate.Lenora was born in Durant, OK on January 17, 1920. She graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree. She was a teacher for over 25 years and retired from Bryan Adams High School in 1982. She was a member of St Pius Catholic Church for over 50 years.She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Austin Cathey; her parents, Rosa and Basil Reese; and two sisters, Mozelle Reese and Joanna Hamilton.She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Cathey of Austin, Lynda Farooqi of Ft Worth, and Cheryl Reed of Mesquite; three grand-daughters, Jamie Drummond, Niki Reed and Mollie Farooqi; and one great grand-daughter Stevie Rae; brother-in-law, Paul Hamilton and nephews, Mike Hamilton & Steve Hamilton and families; along with many, many friends at Christian Care Center in Mesquite, where she spent the last seven years of her long life.The family would like to thank her care-takers at Christian Care Center… she loved all of you very much.Services will be held at the following times/places: Visitation on Wednesday, April 4th 5:00-7:00 pm at Restland Memorial Park on Greenville Ave, Dallas; Rosary on Thursday, April 5th 10:00 am at St Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church on Trails Parkway, Garland with Mass following the Rosary.
