Lenora Elizabeth (Liz) Sego's Obituary
Sego, Lenora Elizabeth (Liz) , born October 16, 1916, on a farm outside of Hewitt, Texas, passed away on November 25, 2013 in Mesquite, Texas, at age 97. She was the eighth of nine children born to Francis Marion Sego and Minerva Josephine Hutchison Sego. Her siblings were Pearl, Hattie, Mamie, Catherine, Howard, Robert, Clariece and a young sister who died as a child. She lived to be the last surviving of her “Sego” siblings. In her life: family, faith, and country were her passions. She never married or had any children, but devoted her life to providing for her mother for many years; faithfully being a member of the Assembly of God Church in Garland, Texas; and working during WW II in Washington, DC, for the government. She was a trained accountant and worked for several companies in Dallas, including radio stations WRR and KLIF. She is survived by six nieces, Elizabeth Cessna, Laura Sue Laird, Janet Hander Powers, Ginny Schmidt, Bobbie Sego Robertson, and Becki Prud’Homme; and three nephews, Jim Cooper, Ben Hander, and Bob Hander. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
