Leo Lloyd Ehrhard's Obituary
Of Cedar Hills, TX. peacefully went to be with our Lord on May 1, 2009 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on March 12, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to Leo P. and Agnes Marie Dreher Ehrhard. He graduated from St. Louis University (SLU) and was president of the Gamma Theta Epsilon fraternity. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He moved to Dallas in 1952., where he attended Blessed Sacrament Church, was president of the Holy Name Society, and was a member of the Usher’s Club. He was very active in the Catholic church as an exemplary member of Father Abram J. Ryan General Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He served as a financial secretary and was elected to the highest office in the assembly in 1963. He was presented with the Holy Trinity medal of Honor and was honored with the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He retired from both the Katy railroad and Lufthansa Airlines. He spent the rest of his working life as an air freight sales manager connected to many DFW companies until his final retirement at the end of 2007. He was proceeded in death by both parents and his beloved mother in-law, Nettie Lillis. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Debbie and his 2 beloved Cocker Spaniels, Ms. Buffy and Ms. Coco; Father in-law: Myron (Mike) Lillis of Roanoke, TX and In-Laws: Diane Lillis of Portales, NM; Pat & Alan Molsberry of Dickson, TN; David & Rita Lillis of Dickson, Tn; Mike Lillis of Dickson, TN; Danny & Jana Lillis of Little Elm, TX; Sharon & Kenny Marshall of Poteau, OK; Shawn & Sandy Lillis of McEwen, TN; and many nieces and nephews. He was especially partial to his great nephews Austin, who shared his birthdate and Tyler Alexander of Poteau, OK. Leo was a man of honor, integrity, and unlimited generosity who never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 6, 2009 at Restland of Dallas from 10 a.m. to 5 p. m. and Rosary to follow in chapel from 7 p. m. to 8:30 p. m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Grapevine, TX on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11 a. m. There will be a private family interment at the Abbey Mausoleum. The family would like to express special Thanks to Dr. Robert DeMartini, Baylor Medical Center Grapevine and the nursing staff (5th floor) at Texas Health Resources (HEB).
