Janet Reast Copeland
Kachel Family: This is Janet REAST Copeland. I'd like to relay our condolences to your family. My daddy, L.E. and Leo go back many, many years. Daddy remembers Leo from his days in Sherman TX, later from his days of working together at Humble Oil/Exxon. They began a friendship between families and were hunting buddies for years. I remember going to your house in Richardson as a young girl. Randy scared me with the stuffed alegator, Sandy let me play with her stuffed animals and I always remember laughter. I got to ride in the USS LARK. I always wanted to name our boat something that reflected our family name. I recently did a scrapbook for my parents and found old pictures of a New Years Eve party from our house in Irving on Revere Street. It must have been 1960? My parents learned about Leo's death by Bill Brown late on the 26th. We had out family Christmas scheduled on the 26th and 27th since a son and daughter-in-law live out of town, so Dot and L.E. didn't think they could make it to Dallas by 10:00 the next morning. We hope you understand. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aline and the family. Please keep in touch with "our family" as we have so many memories of your family. L.E. and Dot Reast, 2608 Northview, Longview, TX 75604. You can also reach me on email. Take Care, Janet REAST Copeland
