SLOAN, JR., LEON L. Born July 6, 1926 in Crandall, TX and passed away January 1, 2008 in Dallas, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Bettye Sloan; 5 brothers and one grandchild. Mr. Sloan is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon Sloan, Karen Thompson and spouse Jack; 2 sons, Butch Sloan and spouse Elaine, Jack Sloan and spouse Kerri; brother, Donald Sloan and spouse Margie; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. Mr. Sloan worked for Kraft Foods in Garland for 40 years and was a member of Freeman Heights Baptist Church since 1977. Visitation will be 7:00-8:30 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 3, 2008. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Freeman Heights Baptist Church, 1120 N. Garland Avenue, Garland, TX 75040. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Freeman Heights Baptist Church of Garland.
