Leonard H. Hammer, Jr's Obituary
Leonard H. Hammer, Jr was born April 21, 1948 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Leonard and Olean Hammer. The family relocated to Houston, Texas in ’61 and then to Fort Worth, Texas where he graduated from Paschal High School in ’66. He was looking forward to attending his 50th high school reunion this year. Len went to college at TCU and decided to follow in his fathers footsteps in sales until he found his passion in commercial real estate and later in the hospitality industry. He served his country in the Air Force for seven years and received an honorable discharge in 1978. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. If he sat down to watch TV it would be sports of any kind and loved Texas Rangers baseball. He is survived by wife Rhonda, stepson’s Zachary and Bryant Hatfield, grandson Bryson, mother Olean Hammer, sisters Janet Taylor of Dallas and Donna Beeler of New Tazewell, Tennessee, nephews Austin Taylor of Dallas and Ron Bailey of Delray Beach, Florida, niece Erica Montalvo of Round Rock, Texas, grand nephew Mitchell Montalvo, grand niece Macy Montalvo, great grand nephew Camden Montalvo and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Len passed away peacefully Sunday April 3rd surrounded by loved ones after battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia for the past 8 months. Services are pending at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
