Leonard Wilson Ranne's Obituary
Leonard Wilson Ranne, 89, of Dallas, Texas passed away on February 21, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on December 15, 1930, to Marian Clinton Ranne and Ada Templeman in Brady, Texas. He married Ruby Evans on September 15, 1951, in Waxahachie, Texas. He was a Marine, Dairy Farmer, owned Military Sheet Metal, Founder and President of Texas Black Bass Unlimited and Inland Fishery Magazine. He was a member of the Texas Freshwater Advisory Board which was founded to get kids hooked on fishing and not on drugs. He worked with the Texas Park and Wildlife to create The Fresh Water Center in Athens, Texas and Outreach for the inner-city youth to learn about the environment and fishing.He is survived by his ex-wife Ruby Ranne of Wills Point, Texas, two sons, Michael Edward Ranne of Dallas, Texas and Phillip Clinton Ranne of Carrollton, Texas; four sisters, Ruby Mae Abernathy, Katherine Savage, Hazel Faye Fraser, and Eda Marie Combs, and four brothers David LeRoy Ranne, Kenneth Lee Ranne, Paul Eugene Ranne, and John Clinton Ranne, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be held on March 2, 2019 at 12:00 PM in Restland’s Abbey Chapel.
