Leonard Gordon Sibeck's Obituary
Leonard Gordon (Si) Sibeck passed away July 10, 2009. We rejoice that he is now in heaven because of his belief in Jesus Christ. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 1, 1919, he was the son of Agnes and Paige Sibeck. Si graduated from Texas A&M University in 1941. Enlisting in the Army he rose to the rank of Major. After serving in WWII he obtained his Master’s in Architecture from MIT. Upon moving to Dallas Si joined George L. Dahl Architects until he opened his own firm, Gordon Sibeck and Associates, Inc. Si was a board member for Camp Grady Spruce, a lifelong member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, and other civic organizations. A long time member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, he was in active in the 2 x 2 class. Si loved architecture, playing golf, traveling and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Frances (Toots) Sibeck. Si is survived by his two daughters, Jo and Gay, their husbands, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two spouses of the grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church on July 23, 2009 at 10:30 am in the main sanctuary. Donations may be made to the Salesmanship Club of Dallas or Highland Park Methodist Church.
