Leroy Kenneth Johnson's Obituary
JOHNSON, LEROY K. (86) of Richardson, Texas entered into eternal rest Saturday November 10th, 2012 at home in his sleep. He was born in Saco, Montana to John Johnson and Marie Hanson Johnson. They moved to Osakis, Minnesota where Jack graduated from high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in WW II. He returned to Minnesota, graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS degree in Civil Engineering in 1950. He entered the Air Force in 1951 as a First Lieutenant. He served in Korea and Vietnam making him a veteran of 3 wars. He completed his education with a Masters degree from North Carolina State in Civil Engineering. He retired from the military after 31 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel. After military retirement, he worked for the city of Fort Worth as a Civil Engineer and a director of facilities for the University of Dallas in Irving. Jack had 3 brothers and a sister. Allen, Clarence, Carl and Marjorie which all preceded him in death. Jack has many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a wife of 59 years, Dolores “Dee” Tollefsen Johnson, and 3 daughters, Kristine Alexander, Cheryl Johnson, and Julia Grantham. He also leaves behind 2 granddaughters, Emily and Megan Grantham. Jack was a member of the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Richardson. Other life interests included the retired officers events, investment club, Masonic lodge, ranching, fishing, hunting and dancing. The family requests memorials to St. Lukes Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
