Lesley Smith Foster's Obituary
Foster, Lesley Smith Age 56. March 12, 1953 – June 6, 2009. Lesley Smith Foster sadly lost her life on June 6 due to complications following surgery. Her death is a devastating blow to her family and friends. She was born in New Orleans and attended the University of New Orleans where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She lived in Metairie, La. until moving to Dallas, Texas following hurricane Katrina. Foster was a federal employee for over 20 years, earning numerous awards as a compliance officer. Her capabilities made a lasting impression on those with whom she worked. She cared deeply for others and was a true good Samaritan. Foster is preceded in death by her father, Bernhard Theodore (Ted) Smith. She is survived by her beloved mother, Doris Smith, sister Karen Carroll, brother Gary (Jill) Smith, cousin Gladys Johnson, and cousin Eddie (Kathy) Johnson and their daughters Stephanie, Laura, and Amy, who all played a distinct role in Foster’s shortened life. She is dearly loved her nieces Emily and Sarah Smith, Shelly (Curtis) Brescher and their daughters Claire and Camille, and her nephew Mark Traina. Foster is fondly remembered by her aunt Audrey Engert, cousins Tom Engert and his son Tyler, David (Kim) Engert and their son Michael, Laurie (Peter) Shirer and their daughter Kelly, and cousin Scott (Gloria) Smith and their son Alex. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 2700 Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Tx., with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. and reception immediately following. The interment at Restland Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
