Leslie Horace Tucker Jr.'s Obituary
Leslie passed away August 30, 2017. Born October 16, 1941 to Leslie Horace and Lorene Tucker, he is preceded in death by his parents and sister Beverly. Graduating with honors from NTSU and member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Les served as a Airborne Medic in the U.S Army Reserves for 6 years, spending 6 months in active duty. Leslie worked for 19 years at GMAC before entering general management in automobile dealerships. Prior to retirement, he also owned a private day care for over 5 years. Les enjoyed his volunteer work for over 10 years at The Friendship House of First BaptistChurch of Garland where he was a member. Les also coached softball teams for both of his daughters. He loved playing his guitar, the piano, writing songs, and poetry, golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by many for his fun-loving ways and quick wit. Leslie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Tucker; daughters Tina Macke and Tami Cooper. Son-in-law Keith Cooper; grandchildren Trenton Tucker Redington, Tyler Michael Redington, Madison Macke, Tucker Whittington Cooper and Hattie Cooper; nieces Sheri Blanton, LaDonna Arey and Anecia Thomas. A Celebration of Life service will be at First Baptist Church Chapel, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or First Baptist Church Friendship House of Garland.
