Lester William Egger's Obituary
Lester William Egger was born on October 17, 1923 in Cherry Hill, Arkansas and passed away on September 27, 2014 in Allen, Texas. Lester was a WWII veteran and served his country as a United States Navy Seabee. He worked at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas until his retirement in October 1983. He was a member of the Smithfield Masonic Lodge No. 455 for over 50 years and was a member of Colleyville Assembly of God Church. He was born to Jesse Milton Egger and Malinda Emaline Deramus who preceded him in death in 1929. He is also preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Emmett, Richard, Arvel, Melvin, and Harding; and sister, Lula Egger Venable. Lester is survived by his wife, Helen Egger whom he married on August 17, 1946. They were married for 68 years before his passing. He is also survived by his children, Brenda Boyd of Parker, Texas, Douglas Egger of Boyd, Texas, and Cherri Burks of Decatur, Texas; grandchildren, Shelly Bottlinger of Murphy, Texas, Tammy Ashby of Keller, Texas, Randi Leatherwood of Grapevine, Texas, Valerie Lavalley of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Jason Burks of Decatur, Texas; great-grandchildren, Amber and Alyssa Bottlinger, Christopher Dollar, Parker and Emerson Leatherwood, Cameron and Silas Lavalley; and great-great grandchildren, Molly, Christian, and Addison Dollar. The funeral service for Lester will be at 2:30 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Colleyville Assembly of God Church, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Lloyd McCutchen and Pastor Jeff Strickland will be officiating the service. The interment of Lester will be at Parker Memorial Cemetery in Grapevine, Texas immediatly following the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
