Lewis Benjamin Haskins III's Obituary
Lewis Benjamin (Ben) Haskins III was born on February 4, 1945. He passed from this life on June 7, 2021. Ben was born in Dallas, Texas and lived in the Metroplex his entire life. He attended Highland Park schools until his family moved to Denton, Texas in 1963. Ben graduated from Denton High School where he met his future wife, Glenda Enoch. They were married August 6, 1966 and had one daughter, Lauren.
Ben graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Business Administration and then took over his parents’ commercial photography business, Squire Haskins Photography, which he and Glenda ran for many years in Dallas. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling and time at their lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. Ben loved boating and fishing and was proud of his nickname “Sand Bass Ben.” He and Glenda were known for their annual fish fries at the lake house and hosting lots of friends and family every summer. Glenda passed away in 2006.
Ben is survived by his sisters, Genie Davis of Denton and Ann Rome of Overland Park, Kansas, his daughter Lauren Mathews and her husband Andy Mathews, and grandson Alex Mathews. He is preceded in death by his wife Glenda, his sister Rita Holder, and his parents, Squire and Milly Haskins.
