Lewis Fredrick Waggoner Jr's Obituary
Lewis F. Waggoner, Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 18, 2018. He was born August 8, 1926 in Hattieville, Arkansas, but called Texas “home” for most of his life. Lewis honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the occupation of Japan. His love for his country and his family were abundantly evident to all who knew him. A devoted husband, dad and PaPa, Lewis faithfully served his family with a quiet strength and steadfast spirit. His mischievous grin and colorful stories will long be remembered.Everyone knew that Lewis could always fix anything. From cars and electronics to creative home improvements, he could do it all. A trained electrical technician, he installed radio transmitters and receivers in military aircraft, and he serviced, installed and repaired x-ray machines in the earliest days of their use. He retired from Boeing in 1992.Lewis was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Patsy Jean Watson Waggoner; and his son, Mickey Lee Waggoner; as well as his six siblings, Bill Waggoner, Florence Waggoner Hahn, Leo Waggoner, Irene Waggoner Roescheisen, Lucille Waggoner Miles, and Charles Waggoner.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robin and Lori Waggoner; daughter, Patricia Raney; grandson James Raney and his wife, Kristi; granddaughter, Alyson Waggoner; grandson, Chris Raney and his wife, Sasha; grandson, Drew Waggoner; grandson, Ryan Raney and his wife, Andrea; grandson, Connor Waggoner; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Allie and Collin Raney; Logan, Everett and Asher Raney; Aiden and Hudson Raney; and numerous nieces and nephews.In the last years of his life, Lewis was lovingly cared for by a committed and compassionate team of professionals at Madison on Marsh in Carrollton, TX, with caring support from Hospice Plus.A visitation for Lewis Waggoner will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church Carrollton, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238.
