Liang An Chang's Obituary
Liang An “Tom” Chang, 53, of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023. After graduating from Mesquite High School, he received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a Psi Upsilon that solidified his love of the Texas Longhorns. After graduating UT in 1992, he pursued a Master of Business Analytics from the University of Texas at Dallas in Dallas, Texas.
Tom had a long and distinguished career in computer science, real estate, and construction. He had many titles in his life, from programmer to entrepreneur, but his favorite role was being a husband and father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and children. He was always there for them, whether he was helping them prepare for a job or cheering them on at their sports games. Tom enjoyed spending his free time coaching his youngest son, Christopher, a little league team in baseball, basketball, and football. He loved to have adventures and explore with his wife and 3 children to new restaurants and cities. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Liang An. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness and laughter in his daily activities.
Tom met his wife Vicki Hong, the love of his life in 1994 and they wed on March 28, 1999. They moved to Plano, TX where they raised their 3 children. Tom took extreme pride in his 3 children, Alexander, Elizabeth, and Christopher. He loved traveling with his wife, discovering new restaurants with his kids, coaching, and watching Dallas Cowboys Football.
Tom is survived by his wife of 24 years, Vicki Hong, his sons, and daughter. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25th, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26th at 10:00am at the Restland Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243, followed by a cremation.
