Libby Milton's Obituary
Libby Ruth Harrison was born to William Ernest and Hadie Craig Harrison in Blue Springs, MS, on August 10, 1934. She passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Ronald E. Milton, of 60 years, her parents, William Ernest, Sr. and Hadie Craig Harrison, her sister, Barbara Curry (Richard), and niece, Nancy Harris and husband, Tom. She leaves behind daughter Karla Haynes and husband, Gary, of McKinney, TX, daughter Ruth Ann Beagle, of Justin, TX, and son Allen Milton, of Bentonville, AR, as well as her dear brother, William Ernest Harrison, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Henderson, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
“Mimi” also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jordan Haynes Jeffcoat and husband Trey, Callie Haynes, Libby Beagle Rodriguez and husband Jorge, Haven Beagle, and Eli and Oliver Milton. Great grandchildren she adored are Jack, Ivey, and Cole Jeffcoat.
Libby served as a minister’s wife in Indianapolis, IN, and Tulsa, OK, while she and Ron grew their family. Soon after moving to Dallas, TX, in 1971, she completed her degree and enjoyed a 19 year career as an Operations Manager for AT&T.
As Libby and Ron retired to Mount Vernon, Texas, they spent time restoring their historical home and became active in the community. Libby was a member of the Shakespeare Club, West New Hope Methodist Church, and served Mount Vernon as a City Council member. She kept an immaculate home and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Whether at church or a social event, Libby always greeted people with a warm smile and a kind word. She will be remembered for her strength and determination.
“Miss Libby” was loved and adored by her friends and caregivers at The Belmont at Twin Creeks in Allen, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to any charity of choice.
A private graveside service was conducted at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas on November 29th.
