Lila Rae Elston Mills Soelter
October 3, 1928 – May 29, 2025
Lila was born on her grandparents’ farm outside Cambridge, IL. She attended grade school in Cambridge, IL, Montgomery, AL, and Davenport, IA. She lived in Sherman, Ft Worth, Brady, and Ballinger during middle school. Once in high school her family stayed in Dallas where she attended Hillcrest High School. She met David while a junior in high school and they were married June 1,1949 at St Michael’s and All Angels Church.
Lila worked at Texas Instruments in Richardson when her children were young but soon became a full-time mother and housewife. She enjoyed traveling, playing scrabble, and being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David, and daughter, Diane Camarillo. Survived by daughters Judy Spiva (Mike), son-in-law, Richard Camarillo, Geri Shaw, Cindy Holland (Jeff), grandchildren Jenna Bresnan (Matt), Brae Shaw, Audra Blodgett (Taylor), Jessica Kramer (Matt), Sam Spiva, Emily Alcorta (Dom), and great grandchildren Wren, Evelyn, Elric, Lila and Eleanor.
Services will be at 11 AM on July 9, 2025, at St Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Chapel.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Scottish Rite Hospital, Dallas Arboretum, St Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
