Lilia Coronado's Obituary
Born August 10th 1920 Died April 4th 2008 She was 87 Years old. Lilia Coronado is the beloved mother and grandmother to Lillian Reyna and her children. Lilia was a friend to many and a devoted parishioner to Good Shepard Catholic church in Garland and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rowlett. Lilia grew up in South Bend Texas and was very proud to come from “Oil Well Country”. She later moved to Ft. Worth Texas where she worked as a seamstress for Dickie’s. Later, she met Johnnie R. Gaitan, the two fell in love and were married. They also settled in the Ft. Worth area. Much later, Lilia moved to Dallas, where she worked as a seamstress for Stocktons and Justin McCarthy. After retirement she worked for the Garland police department as a crossing guard. She often waved to the officers passing by in their patrol cars and referred to them often as her “buddy, buddies”. In the last 10 years she lived in Rowlett, TX. with her daughter. Lilia loved to garden, listen to music, play the piano, talk about her family, be with her family, enjoy a cold beer, dance, and have a good time. Her favorite color was purple, and her favorite music was Rock -N- Roll. In particular, her favorite artist was always Elvis Presley. She talked often of owning her own business one day and where she’d like to go on vacations. Lillie, as she was commonly referred to, will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
