Born on May 2, 1947, in Mexico City to Consuelo and Jose Guadalupe Camacho, Lilia came to the United States as a teenager, carrying with her a spirit of adventure and resilience that would define her life. She married the love of her life, Federico Gaytan, and together they shared 50 beautiful years of marriage. Federico was by her side every day, a testament to their enduring love and devotion.
Lilia was a woman of remarkable warmth and individuality. Her generosity touched many lives, especially through her volunteer work in food pantries across Houston, Texas. She found joy in crafting quilts, each one stitched with care and love, and she cherished traveling with her senior group, always eager to explore and connect with others.
A proud member of the Red Hat Society, Lilia embraced life with color, laughter, and friendship. She was a loving grandmother whose presence brought comfort and joy to her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire kindness and compassion.
Lilia’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, and adventure. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
