Lilian Deckshot's Obituary
DECKSHOT, LILIAN was born on September 21, 1910 in Stanford, Texas and passed away on October 2, 2013 at 1:33 PM in Marshall, Texas at the age of 103. Survived by her stepson and daughter-in-law, Carl and Kathleen Deckshot of Marshall, Texas; three step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren in the Dallas area and cousins in the Abilene, Texas area. Preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Carl J. Deckshot; parents, A.I. and Ava Golightly; two brothers, Rodger and Bob Golightly. Her family moved to Dallas when she was an infant. She was raised in Dallas where she attended public schools. She graduated with a degree in Library Science from Texas Women’s University of Southern California. Lilian was on the library staff of SMU for several years and served as Medical Librarian at Veterans Hospital, Dallas, Texas for 30 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Dallas and Norrell Sunday school class. Memorials may be made to Norrell Class Foundation of First United Methodist Church, Dallas or your favorite charity. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 7, 2013 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
