MAIA, LILIAN AGNES CRADDOCK The heavens above received another angel as Lilian Agnes Maia, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 surrounded by her children. She was born December 21, 1923 in Niteroi, Brazil. She came to the United States in 1950 and worked for the Brazilian Consulate in New Orleans for 40 years. She retired as Vice Consul of Brazil at the age of 70. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a very special woman who was loved by many. Predeceased by her four brothers and sisters, George and Edward Craddock, Muriel Auerbach, and Margaret Taylor. She leaves behind her sons, Richard and Joseph Maia of New Orleans, Louisiana; daughters, Carol Jette’, Anna Maria Mirbahaeddin, and Kathy Maia of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Daniel and David Kianpour; Robin Voiles, Katie and Gabe Maia; Melissa, Lauren, Julia, and Richard Maia; Maryam, Laila, and Lydia Mirbahaeddin; one great granddaughter, Lilian Maia Voiles; brother-in-law, John E. Auerbach; nieces, Vivian and Barbara Auerbach, nephew, Edward Auerbach; and her beloved Pug, Elsie. She will be missed deeply by all. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, January 23rd at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in Lilian’s memory to Boys Town, 200 Flanagan Blvd. P.O.
